Chapter 1, Part V: Song of the Knightingale

So, this was a very interesting few days.
So we start our first day traveling with the caravan of merchants on their way to Dawnway so that we can attend the rally being held by the Knightingale to spread the good word of The Founding Feathers.
During our lunch break at about the half way point from Gilding to Dawnway, we hot foot it into the woods to retrieve the blacksmith's kids after we heard an explosion come from that direction. The children were all unharmed despite some one-sided play turning bad. But things were really thrown into flux when the childhood book, or well tome is probably a better word for it all things considered, appeared to activate much like the Snarls that we've come to learn a little bit about recently; pulling all of us, young child of the blacksmith included, into the tome.
We found ourselves in a somewhat mashed together reality which we later learned was the combination of our realm and that of the storybook. Like slapping together two different colored clays, our world and party had been made the setting of the plot and we had to enact the plot of the classic Frostwane story ourselves before nearly dying to the final spirit from the story and then being brought back to our proper realm by the first spirit from the story. Nothing short of wild.
After getting back to our realm, we talked things over with Professor Ulysses, aka "Backpack Benson" in my head, and found out that Element 707 seemingly manifests in a two-part wild magic event; one of which needs a source I believe. It's tough stuff to keep track of. This is well beyond at least my understanding of Magic. Afterwards, we continued on to Dawnway.
Upon arriving late in the evening, we donned our masks and entered the basement site of the rally. The crowd was rife with a sense of excitement but uncertainty before the Knightingale made her way on stage and began her speech. Her words had weight and warmth to them. Like everyone in the audience was given a heavy comforter blanket with a promise that things will be better; not get better, BE better. It certainly seemed like the Knightingale won the hearts and minds of everyone in attendance. But the intended meet and greet shortly after the speech ended needed to be cut short as a couple of guards outside caught wind of "something suspicious" going on down in the basement from all of the people entering. Darwin and Sir Hector noticed this and let people know at the entrance to spread the word. Thankfully exactly that happened and the building emptied swiftly via the main entrance and a secondary secret exit. The party reconvened soon after and went to the Cuckoo Clock Inn to meet with Maggie and The Knightingale as we had discussed with Maggie before.
The party joined Maggie and the Knightingale in the designated room in waves so as to avoid suspicion. The majority of us made it in shortly after one another, except for Darwin and Hector who came separately later in that order. Then a discussion began to confirm with certainty (magically as we found out late into talks thanks to Darwin Dispelling the Zone of Truth spell) that we aligned with the ideals of The Knightingale and The Founding Feathers and that we are who we said we are. For the most part, everything we had said and known up to that point was accurate; with the exception of Ardyn who we now know is actually named Artemi. Hector also apparently has a history with The Knightingale which is still clouded in mystery. Perhaps something scandalous. Anyway, we also learned that my mom saved the life of The Knightingale some time ago.
