Apologies for not logging our activities till now. This fog maze is incredibly taxing and heavy on the body and mind.
After our meeting with the Knightingale and Maggie, Maggie got news of an issue going on at HQ that seemed pretty serious. So everyone travelled there via magical teleportation; still trying to get used to that.
Upon arriving at their headquarters we were all surprised to see, me especially, that their HQ was set up in my families holiday ranch! Like, w-what?!? When?!? I mean, it makes sense since my family has had an arrangement for as long as I can remember with the Fae where the land the ranch is on is in something of a pocket dimension of the Faewild. So it's quite secure. Which is why the issue Maggie was told about was so important.
The dome-like barrier around the land appeared to be getting pushed on from an outside entity. Which needless to say, is very concerning. When a few of us went over to investigate, we heard an explosion in a similar direction which we learned was likely from a mining facility to the north east that had been a nuisance for a while now. So we decided to try and put a stop to the mining plague on the forest.
While making our way toward the mine, we came across a patch of forest that looked like it had been drained of any and all forms of life. There was however in the center of the decayed woods a creature that appeared to be in distress. When we went up investigate and try to calm it, a couple of us tried to peer into the mind of the Fae creature to try and find out what happened. But all we were met with was an intense scream.
After this, we tried to escort the creature out of the diseased looking woods, however in its distress it attacked us. The combat was short and I nearly fell to the creature, but we were able to wrestle the being free from whatever hold was placed on its mind. Once it had control over its own mind again, it explained more about the area and took us to the edge of a magical dark haze or fog that protects the path to the mine.
We've been piecing together the clues for how to get through the maze. Most of the help actually came from a...piano.
Evidently someone that knows/knew/is/was related to Darwin left a song for him which had lyrics that are something of a map through the maze. We're slowly but surely working our way through it now. Trying desperately to not die or lose our minds while we do.
