It took me a moment to gather myself after my true identity being revealed. I was surprised to see I was not the only one who was less than forthcoming with the group. Apparently, Hector was in fact not Hector at all but, was Guy. Moreover, he and the Knightengale knew each other... Comrades? Friends? Lovers? All of the above? It hardly matters...
The Knightengale (Real name Beatrix) do some "catching up". In all honesty, their reunion was on the outside of my focus. What I gathered from their conversation was they were part of a larger group that was ambushed, not much in the way of details however, the real Hector was killed in this skirmish, and in the aftermath, Guy adorned himself in his fallen comrade's armor assuming his identity. Was he hiding from his attackers? Shame of defeat? Unclear, I will not press this issue, I am in no place to launch an inquisition with all the lies I have told these people...
The reunion was interrupted by Maggie informing us of trouble at the Founding Feathers HQ. We travel there by way of a portal that opened from a tree? Strange magic. Stranger still, this headquarters were located in the Fey Wild??? Mariko would be so jealous if she could see me here, she was so enraptured by this place, I feel I am somehow dishonoring her memory with how uncomfortable it made me feel being there. The uncomfortability did not end there, this HQ was apparently Owen's family vacation home? The poor boy has not had a moment to catch his breath, everything he thought he knew about his parents was a lie. I should speak with him soon, remind him he has people he can lean on if he needs it, not that I am deserving of his trust...
Maggie approached me while at their HQ and revealed to me she is a co-leader of the Vox Owls who are apparently the more "cloak and dagger" body of the Founding Feathers and very graciously extended an offer to assist in my search of Adrik and The Broodmother. With actual resources, I can actually save him...
We were informed as to the reason we were summoned to this place. An explosion at the "nearby" Shuck Mines. We return to Roost proper where we shortly happen upon what I can only assume is the sight of another Snarl.. Dead plant life and a badly wounded centaur. Mews in all her foolish kindness rushes to the centaur's aid and the centaur opens his eyes to reveal they are cloudy with some kind of strange magical haze. He attacks Mews... You can't rush in like that, мишка (bear).
This centaur put up one hell of a fight but, Aer brought him down without killing him making some very skillful use of what seemed like quite a violent spell. This girl continues to impress me.. The centaur (named Twee) tells us he is a guardian charged with maintaining the Timber Wilds. He was caught off guard by some sort of magical detonation that we assume to be a snarl, next thing he knew he was waking up to us.
He offers us guidance to the Shuck Mines however, it is surrounded in some sort of magical darkness that he cannot breach. This darkness is a maze... I am out of my element here... We rely on Darwin for navigation... I feel utterly useless...
