Prime Celestials

Behold, the Prime Celestials! These are the Gods from which all of the Domain Deities have come. Here, you will learn a little more about these great and terrible powers, and their impacts on the world of Fynali.

Brio

Brio is depicted as an older man with white hair and a pearlescent silver suit that catches the light like a sun. He has a golden crown on his head, a circlet with eight stars, the center of which is the largest with the others getting progressively smaller the further away from the center they go. The images of Brio show a calm and powerful being. A creator and builder. A peacemaker. Many of the renditions of a bright and serene Brio show a quiet pain in his expression that hint toward some unknown conflict beneath the surface..

Solana

Solana, known as the goddess of discord and destruction, stands as a stark contrast to the creator and builder, Brio. She is depicted draped in a gown of dark, twilight purple. Her hair cascades in inky black tendrils, swirling in a chaotic storm around her head and face, veiling her features in shadow. Legends speak of her formidable power, matched only by the rumors of the devastation she wrought during her notorious fits of rage, reducing entire towns to ruins.

Her death at the hands of the Warden-- embued with Brio's strength-- was a call for celebration across Fynali, from the villages high in the Mountains to the burrows of creatures at the bottom of the Sea. Despite her demise, her legacy continues to touch our world, allowing pain and violence to flourish even still.

The Warden

The Warden is best known for his role in the Day of Salvation, the moment that the Warden was created in order to stem the tide of darkness and chaos from taking hold in Fynali. He is known as "The Last Child of Brio," and is depicted as a strong, bearded figure with a mohawked helmet. Iconically, he holds a bronze and gold shield, eight stars aloft on its face. The Warden is known to the people of Fynali as their protector, and many pray to him in order to stay safe in the ever dangerous world around them.

Domain Deities

Domain Deities are deities tied specifically to Fynali. While Brio and Solana may be bigger than just the single world, these gods were made from and for the world where Fynalians call home.

Cloh

Domain: Fortune

Cloh appears as a brown-skinned halfling woman, her honey hair in four braided buns across the top of her head. She is dressed in a shimmering emerald gown and is said to walk with a bounce in her step. She is never shown without a golden coin in hand, flipping it idly at her side as she determines the chance and fortunate of those in her orbit. She embodies all that fortune means: chance and luck as well as wealth and riches.

Followers of Cloh are risktakers, those who find the unknown thrilling and seek out the rush of a dangerous gamble. They can sometimes be materialistic, but often they just understand the value of things, both material and not, and spend their time only on things they deem worthy.

Genesis

Domain: Life

Genesis takes the form of an androgenous dwarven figure bathed in a kaleidoscope of vibrant light. They wear a robe adorned with intricate patterns, symbolizing the complex and interconnected nature of life. Genesis wears an ecclectic mix of jewelery and accessories, a variety of gemstones glittering from the bangles and necklaces. Their eyes, too, sparkle with the vitality that they have domain over.

Followers of Genesis often are those who embrace life with open arms, who find calm in the world around them and joy in both the ups and downs of their existence because they know that means they are alive.

Kiln

Domain: Fire

Kiln embodies the ferocity of fire and the dedication and skill of the forge. He appears as a towering, muscular tiefling with warm bronze skin. His hair is a mohawk of dancing red and orange flames. He wears armor forged from black metal that always appears to be in a molten state.

Followers of Kiln tend to be great warriors, filled with fiery rage or ignited passion, or skilled craftsmen unafraid to pour their blood, sweat, and tears into the works they forge.

Korzo

Domain: Heart

Korzo manifests as large and jovial Orc, his bright green skin and boldly colored clothing exude the warmth of his domain. His booming laugh and animated movements capture the strength and security of the heart. Korzo's dark hair is often depicted as being tied up in a warrior's bun, with the rest of his long hair down and twisted with ribbons and adornments. He wears layers of robes, metal armor covering his shoulders, hands, and torso. A hole in his armor is carved in the shape of a simple heart.

Detractors of Korzo often say that the hole in his armor makes it weaker, but those who follow him believe that taking on this design is a symbol of their faith.

Marista

Domain: Water

Marista is as versatile as her element; she can be fluid and serene as a winding river or as hard and sharp as a shard of ice. She is depicted as a lithe and graceful elven woman with a thick waterfall of hair spilling down the length of her back. Her wavy hair, in shades of deep blues and greens, is woven with water lillies and pearls, and she wears a dress that ripples and foams like breaking waves at the bottoms, its color never staying the same shade of blue, white, green or silver for very long.

Followers of Marista tend to contain multitudes; they are flexible and resiliant or strong and durable, and often adapt well to the changes of life's tides.

Nihm

Domain: Earth

Nihm is the stoic and stalwart goddess of earth. She is a Goliath woman with deep brown skin and a halo of thick, coiled hair. Her shoulders are broad and strong, and her hands are calloused like those who farm and till the land. She wears a sunburst crown with fifteen gemmed-prongs, each a different precious material from deep within the soil of Fynali.

Followers of Nihm are hardy and resourceful people. They are not afraid of a hard day's work, and it takes more to knock these sturdy folk down. They often stand firm in their convictions and will protect those they love with unwavering resolve.

Nocturne

Domain: Shadow

The god of shadows is as mysterious as the domain he commands. Nocturne appears as a humanoid figure composed entirely of shifting darkness. This form constantly moves, flickering and floating like fog. Only his eyes-- pinpricks of white glowing light-- remain consistent in their shape.

Followers of Nocturne are as hard to pin-down as he is. They tend to be quiet and reserved, though they may bely great storms of emotion and turmoil underneath the calm facade. They tend to favor stealth and cunning over head-on assaults.

Nova

Domain: Cosmic

As the goddess of time and space, Nova takes on many forms. She sometimes, and most commonly, is depicted as an elderly human woman, her eternal age etched into the wrinkles of her soft skin. Other times, she is shown as a young woman, spry and sharp and beautiful. The rarest depiction of Nova is that of a child, a young girl with long silver hair, calling upon wisdom vastly beyond her apparent years. No matter her 'age,' Nova is always dressed in cloak of swirling indigo and violet galaxies, stars dotted throughout and glittering brightly. She carries a staff with a pivoting hourglass as the head.

Followers of Nova tend to be strategic and far-sighted, thinking always of the longterm effects of any course of action. They may also appear mercurial and chaotic, sometimes acting in a way that others do not understand until all of the pieces come together down the line. Those who are deeply devoteed of this goddess usually believe that time should be looked at with different eyes, as they believe it is not linear, but rather another lens through which reality can be viewed. Conversations with her most zealous followers often can send an unprepared mind spinning.

Phasma

Domain: Spirit

Phasma, though perhaps surprising, embodies the domain of spirit through gentleness and quiet kindness. Her aasimar form is wrapped in a veil-like cloak that flutters around her as if caught in a perpetual breeze. Her long white hair is adorned with white flowers underneath the veil, and the back of her gauzy dress is open to reveal two silvery scars on either shoulder blade. These scars are said to be where wings of lavender flames appear when she arrives on Fynali to guide the newly-dead safely to her domain. She is always depicted as holding a glass lantern with a soft purplish/gray flame eternally flickering.

Followers of Phasma see death as the next great adventure. They do not tend to fear death and instead examine it with curiosity and reverence. They also greatly value life, and know that a long and full life is the key to peaceful death. They view souls as the single greatest comodity on the planet.

Psyona

Domain: Mind

Psyona emanates the tranquility and mental clarity those of Fynali would expect from the goddess of the mind. She appears as a deep gnome with bright, alert eyes-- three of them, in fact. Her third eye sits in the center of her forehead, usually remaining closed. Her long and wild black hair is curved into a hollow orb over her head, the individual strands sparking and jumping with the electric energy of neurons.

Psyona's followers are a bright and studious sort. They value intellectual pursuits and the obtaining of knowledge for knowledge's sake. Their centers of worship appear more like libraries than temples, and they are always encouraged to question what doesn't make sense and to follow logic and evidence where they lead.

Spriggit

Domain: Nature

Spriggit is the master over the domain of nature from the smallest flower to the tallest tree. He takes the form of a young elven boy, his eyes a vibrant green and his golden curls tangled in vines, flowers, and leafy sprouts. He is known for his playful nature and his soft giggle which is said to be mistaken for the rustling of leaves or the twitter of birds.

Followers of Spriggit have a deep reverence for nature and all the stages and cycles of growth. They are often playful and energetic, and many of them have youthful spirits that follow them through any era of their lives. Although Spriggit is considered a pacifist, his followers have often embraced the harsher side of nature as well. They can be feral and wild, unforgiving and relentless. A balanced follower of Spriggit can be all of these things, keeping in mind if the season calls for rain or shine.
