North Hexdove: The Land of Yowndrift

North Hexdove, comprising the nation of Yowndrift, is a realm of snow-covered expanses and majestic peaks. At its heart, and to the geographic east, lies the Well of Creation, a crystal cavern revered as a direct pathway to the Creator Hexdove. The cavern, located just outside of the habitable region, is where the first Starseer was granted their powers and where every initiate must undergo their trial. This sacred site cements Yowndrift's spiritual significance on Roost.

The northern reaches of North Hexdove are dominated by rugged mountains, while the southern areas feature cold but habitable terrain, home to scattered villages and thriving communities. Despite the challenging climate, Yowndrift boasts a resilient population that has mastered the art of survival and governance in icy conditions. The Starseer of Yowndrift serves as both a spiritual figurehead and a member of the Council of the Five, advocating for the unique needs of the northern peoples.

South Hexdove: The Realm of Svelban

South Hexdove, known as the nation of Svelban, presents a stark contrast to its northern counterpart. Most of the continent is inhospitable, with sharp, icy mountains covering the main landmass. These jagged peaks, combined with extreme cold, make habitation nearly impossible. Instead, nearly the entire population of Svelban resides in a single city located on an island just north of the main landmass, which serves as both the nation’s capital and cultural heart.

The foreboding eastern shore of South Hexdove is marked by a mysterious dark portal, shrouded in legend and fear. Few dare approach it, and its origins remain a tantalizing mystery to scholars and adventurers alike. Despite these challenges, the people of Svelban maintain a strong cultural identity, grounded in resilience and ingenuity. The Southern Starseer, based in the capital city, represents Svelban on the Council of the Five, ensuring that the voices of this small but important land are heard on the global stage.
