Splitting up watches before the long rest
2nd watch, Mews hears footsteps near the camp, toward the path from the mines
Mews stealths up and sees two guards patrolling the path
Victoro sneaks up on the guards (he is wearing a guard uniform himself) he sees them take the other fork that goes away from the village and away from the mines
He hears them talking about the explosion, mention something about a party, annoyed that they were not invited
Follows them to a large clearing, in the center of which is a massive, blocky structure that rises up over the treetops, very corporate, no real windows, pentagonal shaped
They head to the edge of the building and swap shifts with two other guards
Victoro circles the structure, 5 pairs of guards along the perimeter, no entrances visible, dark grey coloration
One more guard shift change during their shift
On mine and Guy's watch I went to the obelisk, turned invisible, walked up and touched it, my invis drops, the guards see me, I talk my way out of it, everyone is Bill, one of them says something about not disturbing the workers
Artemi is anxiously following Aer, Aer notices, glares at him, and continues walking with the child
Aer brings Violet back to her mom (Joelle). Questions her about the mine and worker situation. She says her husband works in the mine, seems nervous when asked if it is voluntary
Woman's bracelet is clearly magical, she tugs on it when she's nervous
Aer tries to get more info about her and is rebuffed
Artemi tries to do a magic trick to naturally draw Violet away but that failed too
Artemi sacrifices his long rest and uses his Echo to keep an eye on Aer's dad in the infirmary
I show Aine the poster and she sees a faded version of the invitation to the rally, a good sign, we talk about her magic a bit, Darwin trusts that she will be with us for now, but still going to watch out
Owen messages his mom, she responds "I am so proud of you, I cannot wait to talk to you as soon as I can, stay safe, love you"
Artemi hears through his Echo someone come into the room to check in on Aer's dad, it's the healer, fiddles with his bracelet a little bit, begins casting healing magic on him, starts rattling off questions and the dad is really out of it, struggling to remember, healer asks more specific questions about his "soldier" status
Healer pulls out his id, stares at him confused, puts it back in the shirt pocket, as the healer goes to leave Artemi swaps places with his Echo and stops him from opening the door
Healer just freezes in fear, Artemi intimidates him into not saying anything, stays with Finnegan
The party is at the elder's house
Violet's mom has plans to break into the party
The only way to take the bracelets off is to remove the hand (as far as Violet knows)
We talk to Joelle and convince her to get us in on her plan.
~50 individuals lost to the mining company from Thetchery, also people not from here employed by the mine,
There is going to be an anti-magic field present at the party
Aer and the rest are at her dad's room
Her dad is Bill-626? There are so many Bills
Her dad clearly does not remember her
We all meet up at an AGI, it's super not busy
Message with a quest attached from Gericho, a personal quest for us
Requests that we reach out to Gericho for the quest, and then return to an AGI for compensation
Aer reaches out to Gericho, Snarl activity down in Thetchery, a large building that is seemingly absorbing the energy. Rails have been temporarily shut down today for regular pedestrian travel, dignitaries being shipped in
Chuck Shuck is not a magic user, does have some magic items
Chuck Shuck on the edge of some sort of major breakthrough with the 707
We head to the tavern to meet Joelle, 3 invitations slipped to us
As we walk to find somewhere to plan, Aine sees some out of towners wandering around, a train pulls into the station, 2 individuals exit the train with 4 guards
Artemi, Victoro and Owen go to the Elder's mansion, there is a mithril fence around it and a big yard, and a big manor built around a large tree
Owen sends in Boris to scout and test the anti magic field the second his nose passes the mithril he hits the anti-magic field
Multiple guards in the garden, wearing different uniforms than the ones at the mine, heftier and heavier and more ornate
Bunch of windows, large door in front, the roof has an opening where the tree is, door in the back that leads to a patio and garden, a kitchen staff door, every entrance has at least 2 guards
The anti magic field is way bigger than should be possible
Chuck Shuck and Jules Larkney are throwing the party
Jules Larkney has theaters everywhere, puts on incredible productions, shows that people have never seen before
She also is a rather great inventor and she calls herself a "magineer"
I'm talking my way into the party
Victoro is taking Guy and Mews with his invitation
Aer is taking Artemi
Owen is taking Aine
Aer and Aine try to convince Joelle to test taking her bracelet off
Aer casts Identify on the bracelet. The bracelet itself is under the effects of dispel magic, second ping on a little gem core in the bracelet that acts as an anti-magic barrier. It's creating a short field of anti-magic within the person, activated once the spells have gone off for the day, basically once 3 spells go off it will begin actively dispelling magic and turning on the anti-magic properties
They take Joelle to the fence, once the bracelet passes through the bars it stops glowing and powers down, goes from bright jade to dull green
The bracelet reactivates when it closes, Aine takes the bracelet
I successfully talk my way into the party
Victoro, Guy and Mews are next. Ken Goaway is his name, he is representing Philly Buccillo
Owen and Aine are next. Philip Wile is his name, from Carracosta
Aer and Artemi. Miriam Lavorre. Talking her way in in Sylvan, pretending to only speak Sylvan. Artemi sneaks his dagger in
The party is an elegant affair. The manor is dope as fuck. The table is filled with decadent food of all types.
Behind the curtain on the stage is a large table, with a crate over it. Larkney logo is on it
Another Tabaxi walks into the dining room where Mews, Victoro, and Guy are. She is with a dignified looking man with white robes. She is immediately familiar to Mews. Last time she saw her, she was killing Mews' mother. This is Katrina of the Gleaming Desert Hunt
Katrina tries to confront Mews and Mews resists
A commanding half-elf woman is dancing in the ballroom and I play along with my fiddle
I impress her with my fire dancing
Owen approaches Jules, learns she and Chuck are "unveiling" something soon. "Please watch with a kind ear and a kind eye"
Aine insight checks her and Jules is mad that the venue isn't perfect
I offer to try to enhance the show, Jules wants me to set the curtains on fire when Chuck says "without further ado"
CJ Brawlton and a woman (peacock looking Aaracokra) are in the same room as Aer and Artemi, Artemi sneaks away
Artemi bumps into Katrina in the hallway
Katrina is with Magistrate Rezna, new Magistrate of Dreigull, Artemi knows him as Adrik
I tell Artemi about the rapier I hid
The unveiling is beginning, the guy announcing is making it clear that Jules is insufferable. The high-speed rail was upgraded by Jules recently
I tried lighting Chuck on fire, he burns for 10 damage and I'm tackled by guards
Jules reveals the crate and it opens and inside is a large model replica of a sprawling and complicated network of machines and buildings and flags and lights, Larkneyland, a one of a kind entertainment superscape (is this Westworld?)
The King of Materhawk is up on the balcony???
She refers to element 707 as Glimmer
Larkneyland is going to be in a rejuvenated Blightjay
The guards take me to the basement
Mews has been trying to follow Katrina
Artemi trying to get into the basement, he succeeds, Aer is with him
Basement is super dark, single torch at the far end
Bad stealth rolls, The guards who are carrying me know that Artemi is there, Aer might be stealthed?
Victoro and Guy are upstairs, guards dressed in very heavy armor that looks very imposing, Victoro recognizes them as the King's Guard
Victoro picks the lock on a desk drawer, there is a single ring in there
Bookshelf doesn't reveal much of note
As Chuck starts on fire the King's Guards retreat
