Oznuk Goskem's Story

Oznuk 'Oz' Goskem grew up a member of the much-mocked Goskem family of Brimhold.

The Goskems choose to live in an alternate reality where Brio is still alive and well and the minor deities are merely pretenders. The compound constantly smelled of long-burning incense and dried herbs. The walls were plastered in various types of pro-Brio scripture and propaganda.

Oz, was the chief skeptic among his family, his parents, various aunts and uncles, 10 siblings and 40 some-odd cousins that lived on the family compound, and mostly kept that skepticism to himself when the family was passionately discussing the pantheon (or lack thereof in their eyes).

Once he reached his late teens, Oz came across a strange book in his home that was not Brio scripture. As he touched it it instilled a deep yearning in him for something more. After finding this text, he was able to convince his parents to let him move away from home and study at the Arcademy.

While studying there over the course of ten years, he was introduced to many viewpoints other than the narrow one his family holds dear. Oz began to question his upbringing even more than he already had been. But at the same time, Brio was certainly responsible for his powers, wasn't he? His powers are of the light, they must come from Brio.

But certainly doubt began to set in. It was a hard situation to reconcile and one which would surely test Oz many times in the days to come.
